The Project - Water Engineering (Water Resources Management and Modeling of Hydrosystems) is an elective compulsory lecture (Wahlpflichtmodul) in the competence field Hydrosciences in the master programme Civil Engineering. 

The students learn the application of simulation methods and techniques using an example of the field water and environment. The task which may have a stronger focus on research or practical application must be carried out in a given time frame and the results must be presented at the end.

The topic of the work is, preferably, a modeling study about simulating flow or/and transport processes in surface waters or in the subsurface. The student research project deals with several aspects of the fields preprocessing (data acquisition, data processing), simulation (application, small development) and postprocessing (visualization of results, analysis, evaluation), a literature study is also possible.

The student research project is guided by an advisor. The results shall be presented as a small report and an oral presentation in English or German language.
