Modeling flow and transport processes in the subsurface
In the context of this research topic methods and techniques to simulate flow, transport and reaction processes in the subsurface, i.e. porous and fractured-porous media, are developed and applied. Two-phase (water, gas) systems, the unsaturated zone and groundwater systems are investigate. Application fields are, for example, concerned with groundwater drawdown as a result of aquifer overuse, water infiltration in hillslopes, seepage through dikes as well as exchange processes between coastal aquifers and coastal water.
