Tiburtius Award 2010
The Tiburtius Award is donated for excellent doctoral theses at the universities and excellent diploma theses at the applied universities by the Federal Conference of the Rectors and Presidents of Berlin's Universities.
The Federal Conference of the Rectors and Presidents of Berlin's Universities annually awards 3 prizes (4000 Euro, 2500 Euro, 1500 Euro) and additionally 3 compliment prizes (500 Euro each) for doctoral students of Berlin's Universities. The doctoral theses must have the best possible mark according to the regulations and they must be part of a doctoral procedure finished in the year before the donation of the award at a University in Berlin.
Advisors
The doctoral thesis "DiaTrans - A Multi-Component Model for Density-Driven Flow, Transport and Biogeochemical Reaction Processes in the Subsurface" has been supervised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. R. Hinkelmann, Chair of Water Resources Management and Modeling of Hydrosystems, TU Berlin in a close collaboration with Prof. Dr. Michael Schlüter, Alfred-Wegener-Institut for Polar and Marine Research, Bremerhaven.
